These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Dhandi ("Dhandi," "we," "us"), a sole proprietorship based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They govern your use of the Dhandi mobile app, the dhandi.app website, court scoring pages, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Plain-language summary (the Terms below control): Dhandi is software that helps a sports community organize itself. We are not the organizer of events, not a payment processor, and not responsible for what happens on a volleyball court. Deposits are paid directly to organizers and are generally non-refundable. Play at your own risk. Disputes with us go to individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days.
1.What Dhandi is (and is not)
Dhandi is a neutral software platform that connects players, clubs, club leaders, and tournament organizers, and provides tools such as profiles, ratings assigned by club leaders, registration, brackets, live scoring, standings, and audit logs. Dhandi does not organize, host, sponsor, officiate, or supervise tournaments or club activities; does not own or control venues; does not employ organizers, club leaders, referees, or scorekeepers; and is not a party to any arrangement between you and an organizer, club, venue, or other user.
2.Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are 13–17, a parent or legal guardian must consent to these Terms on your behalf and supervise your use.
- You must provide accurate information, including your real name and a genuine photo of your face, and keep your account information current. One account per person.
- Sign-in uses one-time codes sent by text message to your phone number. You are responsible for maintaining control of your phone number and for all activity on your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, compromise event integrity, or harm the community.
3.Payments, deposits, and refunds
- Dhandi does not process payments. The Service does not transmit money. Organizers and club leaders may display their own third-party payment handles (for example Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle). Any payment you make is a direct transaction between you and that organizer or leader, on that third-party service's terms, entirely outside the Service.
- Acceptance is not entry. A team's registration request being accepted does not reserve a spot. A spot is claimed only when the organizer marks the team's deposit as paid, subject to capacity at that moment (first marked, first served). Unpaid acceptances expire when a tournament's field locks.
- Deposits are non-refundable once paid, unless the organizer decides otherwise. No-shows, incomplete rosters, disqualification, and rule violations are the responsibility of the team. A team that believes it was removed unfairly may file a dispute in the app; disputes are reviewed, but Dhandi does not hold funds and cannot itself issue, guarantee, or compel any refund.
- Cancellation by an organizer is different. The rule above applies to a team's own no-show, withdrawal, incomplete roster, disqualification, or rule violation. If an organizer cancels a tournament (for example for insufficient registrations, venue loss, or weather), refunds of deposits already paid to that organizer are expected, and are the organizer's responsibility. By cancelling through the Service, an organizer acknowledges that responsibility. Because deposits are paid directly to the organizer on a third-party payment service, Dhandi holds no funds and cannot issue, guarantee, compel, or reverse any refund; teams must contact the organizer directly using the payment handle shown in the app. The same applies to a club leader who ends a club or a session for which dues were already paid.
- Cancellations during an event. Once a tournament is under way, an organizer may request cancellation (for example if the venue becomes unusable). Games already played remain in the record. Refund expectations for a partially completed event are between the organizer and the teams; Dhandi is not a party to that decision.
- Dhandi is not responsible for payment errors, misdirected payments, chargebacks, or disputes on third-party payment services.
4.Assumption of risk — physical activity
SHOOTING VOLLEYBALL IS A PHYSICAL SPORT THAT CARRIES INHERENT RISK OF INJURY. YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN, OFFICIATING, SCOREKEEPING AT, OR ATTENDING ANY EVENT ORGANIZED OR DISCOVERED THROUGH THE SERVICE, INCLUDING RISK OF BODILY INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR DEATH. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DHANDI IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM EVENTS, VENUES, OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, ORGANIZER, CLUB, OR THIRD PARTY. Organizers and venues are solely responsible for event safety, insurance, supervision, and compliance with local law.
5.Community roles and tournament integrity
- Skill ratings are assigned by club leaders and reflect their opinions; they are not statements of fact by Dhandi.
- Organizers control their events, including accepting teams, marking payments, assigning or removing scorekeepers, disqualifications, removals, and applying published formats and fairness rules. Automated bracket, standings, and advancement calculations are provided as tools; the organizer's administration of their event is final within the app.
- Audit logs exist to protect event integrity. Actions may be reversed ("undone") but log entries are retained.
- Anyone scoring a game (including via court QR pages) must enter truthful scores; scorekeeper names are displayed and recorded.
6.Your content and conduct
Reporting and blocking. The Service provides tools to report objectionable content or behavior and to block another user. Reports are reviewed and Dhandi may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Photos submitted as club or tournament banners are reviewed before they become visible to other users.
You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, messages, team names, and similar). You grant Dhandi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Service. You represent that you have the rights to what you post.
You agree not to: harass, threaten, or defame others; post unlawful, infringing, or sexually explicit content; impersonate any person; sandbag, manipulate scores, or otherwise cheat; scrape or reverse-engineer the Service; interfere with its security or operation; or use it for unsolicited advertising. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.
7.Artificial intelligence disclosure
Portions of the Service, including software, documentation, and app content, are developed with AI assistance. Certain features are automated (for example bracket generation and standings), and automated actions are labeled in tournament logs. AI-assisted output can contain errors; the Service is provided "as is" as described in Section 10. Dhandi does not use AI systems that impersonate humans, and does not perform facial recognition on profile photos.
8.Dhandi's intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, logos, the "Dhandi" name, and content we create — is owned by Dhandi or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended community purpose. "Dandi" as the name of a sport technique is part of the sport's shared vocabulary; the "Dhandi" brand identifies this Service.
9.Copyright complaints (DMCA)
We respect copyright and respond to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@dhandi.app including: (a) your signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) identification and location of the allegedly infringing material; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act. We may remove material, forward notices, and terminate repeat infringers. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.
10.Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. DHANDI DOES NOT WARRANT THAT SCORES, STANDINGS, BRACKETS, RATINGS, OR NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR TIMELY, OR THAT ANY EVENT, ORGANIZER, OR USER WILL PERFORM AS EXPECTED.
11.Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) DHANDI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR ENTRY FEES/DEPOSITS PAID TO THIRD PARTIES; AND (B) DHANDI'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO DHANDI IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions these limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.
12.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dhandi from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your participation in or organization of events, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13.Dispute resolution — arbitration and class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully; it affects your legal rights. You and Dhandi agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief for intellectual-property misuse. The arbitration will be held in Hamilton County, Tennessee, or remotely by agreement.
CLASS-ACTION WAIVER: DISPUTES WILL BE ARBITRATED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. NEITHER PARTY MAY PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
30-day opt-out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@dhandi.app with your name and phone number within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
14.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For any matter not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Hamilton County, Tennessee.
15.Termination
You may stop using the Service or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or community. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 3–4 and 8–14) survive termination.
16.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post updates here with a new effective date and provide in-app notice of material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
